Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG)

How it started

Established in 1967, CHAG is a network organization encompassing 392 health facilities and training centers. Owned by 25 Christian Church denominations, the network includes 75 hospitals, 285 clinics and health centers, 13 primary health care centers, and 19 training institutions.

 

Strategically located in peri-urban and rural areas, these institutions collectively serve over 700,000 patients monthly, with a primary focus on women and children. Additionally, CHAG has been accredited as COVID-19 centers, playing a crucial role in the healthcare landscape.

The successful pilots:

St. Mary's Catholic Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, St. Matthew's Hospital. The healthcare electrification project kicked off in Ghana. The hospitals have been successfully completed and are running on solar energy, greatly improving their operations. Public health outreaches have become more efficient and accessible to the beneficiaries using the electric bike with cooling systems.
